Letter from Philanthropy Vice President

Hello everyone,
My name is Avery Woodard, and I am proudly serving as Gamma Upsilon’s
Philanthropy Vice President this year! I am honored to serve the Kindly Hearts Initiative,
and our local philanthropy, the Athens Area Homeless Shelter. The Kindly Hearts
Initiative serves as an umbrella for our national philanthropy that focuses on supporting
children experiencing homelessness or foster care. Gamma Upsilon has partnered
locally with the Athens Area Homeless Shelter to focus on giving back to the homeless
youth in our surrounding area. It was important to us that we make an impact locally.
Throughout this year you can expect to see various philanthropy fundraisers such as
our AmaXing Gala, the Letters of Love campaign, and a multitude of community service
events. I am so excited to lead this initiative for the chapter and look forward to seeing
the impact it has on the community!
